To those unaware, the 1970’s was a horrible time to be a watch manufacturer. Quartz watches, in their affordability and accuracy, nearly destroyed all Haute brands that refused to innovate. Enter Gerald Genta, an innovator who wanted to reinvigorate the demand for watches through a modern lens. When he designed the original Ref.3700 Nautilus in 1976, it set a new standard of originality, with many brands following suit and particularly developing sports watches.

Following in the same design language, the Aquanaut was released as an even sportier alternative usually found on a rubber strap. With its 40.8mm rose gold case, comfortable butterfly-style clasp/strap and classic waffle textured dial, the 5167R is perfection achieved. Behind the sapphire caseback is the in-house Caliber 324 S C, featuring 45 hours of power reserve achieved through 212 hand assembled parts.

Condition- Used, but good overall condition. Very minor scratches are present to the case and bezel.
